Let's talk about Bancroft Hall. So, when it comes to Bancroft Hall, there are eight main wings or portions of Bancroft Hall, which is where the midshipmen live, and so those eight wings are connected by breezeways. So each individual, like main column of building is going to be one of the wings First wing, third wing, fifth wing and seventh wing. The odd wings are all on the side that are closest to the academic buildings loose hall, wesley, brownfield house, like closer to the water side, second, fourth, sixth and eighth wing all the even wings are actually closer to gate one in the entrance of the United States Naval Academy, and those eight wings comprise, like again, the wings and the main living spaces of Bancroft. Now you'll often hear the term deck as well. The deck is just the floor level that you're on, and at the Naval Academy we start on zero deck. So the first floor is zero deck and when you hear people talk about Bancroft Hall, you're going to hear them use the wing and deck together to put together where they live. So, for example, when I was in 26 company at the Naval Academy, we were on eight zero, which meant that I was living in eighth wing on zero deck. And if your midshipman says, oh yeah, I live in seven two, that means they live in seventh wing of Bancroft, on the second deck, which is basically the third floor, cause you start on zero right, and so that's how you comprise Bancroft Hall. Again, there are eight wings in total, four up to the fourth deck, so there are five floors in total basically running through, and that's how it works and each company will basically have their own space or own floor. There's a little bit of crossover and mix, but again, for example, when I was there, 26th company comprised the vast majority of eight zero eighth wing on zero deck, and so that's how it works and it's very cool.

I appreciate the question. It's a really unique living situation. Bancroft Hall is technically one big building because you're connected by breezeways and P-ways hallways. We use the term P-way, which is a passageway, and it connects all the places in Bancroft so you can go from eighth wing all the way to first wing, all inside all connected. It's technically part of the same building, despite having individual living wings that we're a part of. So again, that's basically how it breaks out.
